The last Ilyushin IL-18 produced in 400 scale was by Aeroclassics in 2014 (a pair of Air Koryo examples) and prior to that it had been 2012. Somewhat surprisingly there have actually only been 15 IL-18s ever made in the scale, all by Aeroclassics.
Yu ModeL's first pair of models were Tu-154s, which used the Aeroclassics moulds for the type and no doubt the announced IL-18 will also see the return of the Aeroclassics mould.
The aircraft announced (part YU0003) is in the colours of the PLAAF and registered 232. It appears to be preserved at the Beijing Xiaotangshanzhen Aviation Museum judging from photos on Wikipedia. Delivered to China in 1964, and followed in later years by four others, this aircraft was used as China's 'Air Force One' until 1967.
The model is available on Taobao at a couple of sites and they suggest it will be available in mid-late February. It is an interesting historical aircraft choice and I hope it also means that we may see a return of Aeroclassics IL-18s in other liveries too.
