1:400 SCALE MOULD REVIEWS
The 1:400 die-cast model airliner scene really got started around 1999 and since then there has been a wide range of aircraft produced on a wide range of different moulds by competing companies. The main players have historically been Aeroclassics, Dragon Wings, Gemini Jets and Phoenix, though at various time other manufacturers have entered and left the market - including JC Wings, Jet-X, Aviation 400 (and various other Witty brands like Witty Wings, Apollo, Blue Box etc), Herpa, SMA and others.
As of 2023 Aeroclassics, Aviation400, Gemini Jets, JC Wings, NG Models, Panda Models and Phoenix are the 7 big players.
This area of the site is to explore the different moulds used for aircraft types over the entire history of the 1:400 scale - taking a look at what has been made, when it was made, what the mould looks like and providing a general comparison between moulds to help the collector choose which models to buy.
