Indonesia One: Air Shop's Panda Exclusive

Panda Models already makes models for both Skywings and HYJL wings but it seems they have also just finished a new model specifically for the Indonesian model shop 'Air Shop Miniatures' featuring the Indonesian Presidential aircraft known as 'Indonesia One'. I only heard about this release through Facebook posts so thanks to those that posted about it.

Comac's new challenger to the supremacy of the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, the C919, looks on paper as if it'll be a big success with 716 'orders'. The reality is that it is unlikely the majority of these aircraft will ever be built, however it surely can't be less successful than its Comac stablemate the ARJ-21? Either way its Chinese and new and so it is getting a mould in 1:400 scale and here are the first release photos of the new moulding.

Aviation400 appear to be positioning themselves for a fight in the crowded market for Airbus widebodies in 1:400 scale. Not content with their existing A330 and A340 moulds they have just released their first A350-900.

In part 1 we looked at the countries that are not represented in my collection even though they do have models in 1/400. In 1/400 scale as of now 132 of the world's 197 countries have at least one model from an airline based in that country. In this part we'll look at the unlucky 65 nations with no representation in 1/400 scale.

I expect I am not alone in trying to build a diverse collection of model airliners. Obviously nations like the USA, Canada, China, UK, France, Australia etc are well represented in almost any scale but if you want a geographically representative collection then often your choices are rather limited or even non-existant in 1:400. In this 2 part series I plan on taking a look at where the gaps are in my collection and in production in general.

Phoenix Jet2 737-800s Preview

It is unusual for Phoenix to look beyond Asia and a small core of other major operators let alone look at a British leisure airline. So it was quite surprising that their November announcements included a pair of Jet2 737NGs. To say Phoenix 737s have been a disappointment in 2017 is an understatement so what have they made of this pair? The models are out and here quickly I take a look at what they have produced.
