Though I've been working on Wright Field of late that doesn't mean work has stopped on Xin Long. Indeed since I've come back from holiday construction has begun on the pier-terminal connectors using my old airport construction stalwart - balsa wood. Here's a progress report of work on the West pier connector building.
Until recently lighting has been quite an issue when taking photos of my airport dioramas. I have however recently purchased a lamp with a movable armature, which can sit quite nicely on a stool or be held high. This provides back up to the roof strip light. Along with this I have been using some of Picasa's lighting effects to give select shots a bit more atmosphere.
Heathrow, even worse than Gatwick, has been pretty crap for spotting for years now with poor views and unfriendly security staff, however as long as you have a ticket Terminal 4 (BA's old terminal now used for Skyteam and non-aligned airlines) is a breath of fresh air (or should I say kerosene) for the aviation enthusiast. Thanks to the annoyances of modern long haul travel I was lucky enough to find myself with several hours at T4 recently.
