NG Models have sent me 5 different 747 mould samples to date (6 if you include the RR powered 747SP). It was suggested that I take some photos of them together to compare the nose shape and it gave me an opportunity to go in search of the long-stored SP sample so I could do just that.
NG Models 747 Noses Compared
I've tried to make this a sensible comparison so here we have two 5 picture montages taken on my dining table top. Note the join line of the table running down the middle, which is a handy reference point. The two sets of images were taken at a slightly different angle to each other: with the camera resting on the table itself and with the camera peaking over the edge of the table. In both sets the 747s had their nosegear placed on the same spot on the table so they are all in the same relative position to the central table line and the backwall.
I removed the windows on the 747-8s as they clutter the image and fool the eye. I left the cockpit as it was a pain to remove.

First there is the high shot with the camera on the table top. Note that even though the curves look different the table midline shows they are all at about the same height. The 747-8s have slightly shorter nosegear.
Next we have the lower angle with the camera peaking over the table edge:
