HYJLwings New A321s Pt1: In the Flesh

HYJLwings has grown impressively in the past year from a tiny manufacturer to a reasonable force. This is testament to its owner Jelly Huang and also its connectivity at times with Panda, JC Wings and NG Models. Since last November however they have been rolling out a line of new A321s using a mould that not only is superb but also entirely their own.

The 737 Next Generation series successfully revitalised Boeing's short haul family after its classic 737-300-500s received rather a mauling from the newer and more advanced A320 family. The extended series 600-900ER have been going toe to toe with Airbus ever since the late 90s and although the 737 MAX family are now taking the strain Next Gen 737s will be a major feature of almost every decent sized airport for a long time yet. They are also a common subject in 1:400 scale so here I take a detailed look at the currently active moulds for the type.

My Xīn lóng International airport model has been close to completion now for sometime but one thing I have been struggling with has been adding some relief to the surroundings. Partly this could be achieved with some fake lighting, however selecting the lights has proven difficult. There are however several options for lighting in this scale all of which are pretty good.

NG Models April Releases - More 757s & CRJs

Breaking news here at Yesterday's Airlines HQ are the April announcements from NG Models. I literally woke up an hour ago to find that overnight NG have announced their April releases which include in 1:400 scale 6 757s (including European and US examples) and in 1:200 scale 3 CRJs (German and Chinese). Here's the scoop.

HYJLwings sure seem to have been busy recently and not just in 1:400 scale. Back in January they announced a third batch of CRJs in 1:200 scale and they are now available for sale. As before they can be purchased through Threshold Aviation in Canada but numbers are no doubt very limited. They will no doubt also be available through taobao shops.

Panda Models - March Releases

Panda have been quiet over the Chinese New Year period with only the announcement of their annual CNY fantasy model. However March finds them back on stream and announcing a faimilar line up of Airbus twinjets. Once again China predominates but Panda returns to Lufthansa for some more A320s too.
