In this review I take a closer look at DT Customs Tupolev Tu-204s.

Panda Models has a decent 400 scale mould for the Tupolev Tu-204 and is the only brand to have made Aeroflot versions wearing the classic cheatlines. Releases of Russian passenger airlines using the Tu-204 moulds has been limited to date and not many actually wore the Aeroflot style cheatlines but with a little creative license I asked DT Customs to attempt Perm Airlines and Dalavia.
Both of these airlines are now defunct and operated the Tu-204 at different times and used slightly different variants too.
Check out the following video for more on this pair of customs:
Technically the Perm Airlines scheme used a slightly darker cheatline than the original Aeroflot colours, but considering the unlikelihood that anyone will ever release it in 400 scale that was a trade-off I was more than willing to accept.
Dalavia operated 5 Tu-214s in the mid-2000s until their bankruptcy in 2008. The Tu-214 was basically a Tu-204-200 with a higher gross weight and modified door configuration. It is known as the Tu-214 since it is made in the Kazan factory rather than the Aviastar factory.
Technically the door config of the custom is slightly wrong in that the L2 door is not full size on a Tu-204-100 but once again this is a very minor point. |
