Below is how the 'East Pier' looked prior to starting work: The 'East Pier' has on its inside two FAA Group III / ICAO Code C gates for 737/A320s and two slightly larger 757 gates. On the outside are two Group V / Code E gates for 777s and at the far end a single Group VI / Code F gate for up to an A380. Design steps followed those taken for the 'West pier' namely:
This was followed by adding the yellow cross-hatched areas showing where the airbridge active zones are. In the meantime the pier body was being painted up.
