TOBY Fire Station - 1:400 Scale

I recently picked up a nice little addition for any model airport in the form of a Fire Station made by a new company called TOBY. I have very little information as to who they are but this set will be available at a variety of retailers in limited numbers soon. Read on for further details...

The set consists of 3 parts - a base plate, the main fire engine building and a control room that can fit atop the main building.

The set is made of plastic, which at the doors is very thin and somewhat subject to not being quite straight. The engine doors are also fixed and can't be moved up, which is a bit of a shame, especially as there is some internal detailing of the building.

As set up the building measures 10cm long, 3.5cm wide and about 2.75cm high. With the control room addable anywhere across the set you can make a couple of different looks and the set displays nicely alongside 400 scale Fire Engines. Shown here are a selection of Panda Models tenders I own.

It is a nice little set but not perhaps as nice as it could be if they'd had added more detail to the doors and made them moveable.
