Today is the first day of the China Beijing International Model Expo 2024, being held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall Theater for the next 3 days. Panda Models have a stand at the fair and are using it to announce their latest new 400 scale mould, which is the big MDD trijet the McDonnell Douglas MD-11. MyHobbyHouse had shared a 'sneak peek' of the new mould on April 8th, which clearly illustrated that the new mould would be either a DC-10 or MD-11. I had had it confirmed earlier in the week that the mould would be an MD-11 but now Panda have the mould samples on their table at the Expo and I have a few photos to show off the samples. Also note the A350-900/1000 samples: The photo angles aren't ideal but you can just about see the two different engine options are available. MD-11 Sample with Pratt & Whitney PW4460/62 engines: MD-11 Sample with General Electric CF6 engines: It is hard to say a lot about the quality of the moulds from these photos but they do look pretty good to me. They clearly are seamless and don't have the undercarriage or engine pylon issues of the existing moulds Phoenix mould.
Hopefully we'll see better photos soon or a mould sample will be sent to me for review.

Looks like it has slot in wings. I'm all for it. I do not like molds that use cradle wings.

The one noticable thing clearly that is an imporvement over JCW and Phoenix moulds is the win join! Just looks smoother done! Question is many have those 2 best liveries that ever adorned the MD-11 from Phoenix....so is it worth doubling up and hoping to sell the Phoenix ones on at a discounted price!
