Q: Who are FantasyWings? FantasyWings Diorama Production is the idea of a group by several collectors and Chris Wong is the Facebook page manager who answers customer questions. The reason of the name call “FantasyWings” is because this project is based on our fantasy. We aim to create a new line of airport accessories in the aircraft scale model market. We know that it is hard but we will try to do this. Q: As I understand you both sell die-cast models and produce your own GSE? Yes, we are selling the models and also making our own GSE. In the very beginning, we are doing the pre-order service via Facebook page and also selling some of the rare planes such as 1/400 NCA 747- 400F with GSE set. We are happy to find some rare model and sell it to the collectors. Some of the collectors will also ask for the rare planes. We will try to find them within their budget. Q: What made you decide to start making your own GSE – do you have a model airport yourself? The reason why we would like to start making our own GSE is because we find that it is hard to find the 1/400 GSE in the market and the price of the DragonWings GSE is too high and they are also very rare. At that point, we would like to design some GSE for our own model airport. After a year of the study of 3D printing production, we release our very first GSE, Cargo Set. We have a little Kai Tak Airport ground foil for displaying our collection, products and the new release of the aircraft. We are trying to build the terminal to enhance our airport scenario. Q: How are your GSE designed and made? Our GSE is mainly referencing from Hong Kong airport ground equipment. We got some photos for reference and using AutoCad for designing. Our production line is mainly by 3D printing machine and the entire paint job process is by hand. Therefore, it is need to take some times for the whole production. Normally, it will be around a month depending on the orders. Q: What range of GSE and vehicles do you produce at the moment – types and scales? We are now making the 1/400 Cargo Set and the 1/400 containers set. We have designed the apron light before, but the quality is not fit to our expectation. The Push back truck, outer bay APA system, runways approach light and ILS equipment we have made before but all of them are already stop production. We are planning for producing the airport passenger bus in 2019 in 1/400 and 1/200 scales. The difference between the passenger bus and the previous is the production. Starting from the passenger bus, our production change from 3D printing to mold production. Q: Where from and how can people purchase your products? We are currently only selling via our Facebook Page and Instagram, but we are looking for some retailers for the future. Therefore, please feel free to contact us for any further partnership. We are happy to talk with anyone who is interested. The retailer can contact us via our email: [email protected] for more information and products update. Q: What plans have you got for the future? In this year, we are changing our production line from 3D printing to the mold production in order to increase the products quality and quantity. The passenger bus is already on the way and we hope that we can release it asap to the world. The brand new aircraft maintenance docking system in 1/400 and 1/200 are also in our plan. All of the previous design will change to the mold production. Hoping to provide more GSE or airport equipment to the collectors in the future.

Great for models of modern airports, but what about us retro collectors? Need some old buses, fire engines and support vehicles.

So, 3D printing was NOT the modern solution? The use of molds is cheaper AND produces a better product?

If I were you included the 1/500 scale because it is also strong in Eutopa, America and Asia.

I am interested in many of the sets of GSE equipment but was wondering if you have a catalog or a listing of what is actually available in 1/400 scale. Every thing looks fantastic.
