The 1:400 die-cast model airliner scene really got started around 1999 and since then there has been a wide range of aircraft produced on a wide range of different moulds by competing companies. The main players have been Aeroclassics, Dragon Wings, Gemini Jets and Phoenix, though at various time other manufacturers have entered and left the market - including JC Wings, Jet-X, Aviation 400 (and various other Witty brands like Witty Wings, Apollo, Blue Box etc), Herpa, SMA and others. As of 2016 Aeroclassics, Gemini, JC Wings and Phoenix are the 4 big players. Aeroclassics as its name suggests aims towards classics but also has started making modern Airbuses and 737s. Gemini used to do a bit of retro material but is nowadays firmly focused on modern US and European aircraft, whilst Phoenix and JC primarily cater towards modern Asian airlines.
