The NAMC YS-11 is a type easy to ignore by Western collectors but that shoul;dn't be the case as it served widely and for some major and colourful non-Japanese airlies. Although there are 3 available moulds and there have been over 25 releases there is still plenty of potential for this rather forgotten type, especially for US airlines. The YS-11 has 3 available moulds, of which the most likely to be used is probably the Gemini Jets / JC Wings example. I have recently reviewed the YS-11 in 400 scale so if you haven't seen that check out that review: Here are 21 options for further usage covering some major flag carriers and independents: UNITED STATES Piedmont delivery colours is surely the most needed of all remaining YS-11s: During the 1980s the YS-11 saw secondary service with various commuters and independents like Mid-Pacific of Hawaii Simmons Airlines / American Eagle: PBA / Continental Express hybrids: Reeve Aleutian of Alaska: ELSEWHERE Outside of Japan and the US the YS-11 saw service from Europe to Canada, the Caribbean and South America: Asia Back to Asia and these 3 haven't been made in 400 scale. I'd also appreciate re-releases of the Japanese versions that were made for the JAL Collection on a better mould such as Toa Domestic. and of course last but not least the prototype is also missing in 400 scale:

It astonishes me that Mid Pacific has not been made. The livery is colorful and the roll of inter-island air service is fascinating! (We also need a Discovery BAe 146 and SkyBus DC-4 to make a credible history of airlines in Hawaii.) Olympic is absolutely fascinating! Another inter-island carrier with a classic livery. The final Reeve livery would be a perfect addition to a well represented fleet, but surprisingly missing their last livery with an interesting flourish making the v into a check mark! Great suggestions Richard! Thanks also for the Latin American memories.
